Review: My Dragon Masters by Krystal Shannan

I received this ARC from the author in exchange for an honest review.

Fire and ice don’t go together… or do they?

When the beast within wakes, her desires burn with a fire she can’t escape. She won’t let anything stop her, not even the fact that she has no memory. She doesn’t know who… or what she is, but also can’t shake the feeling that she’s something more than human.

Dragon shifter twin brothers, Miles and Eli Blackmoor, are exiled Drakonae kings. A thousand years ago they lost their soul mate, Diana Karlson. Betrayed by their own people, they spent centuries on earth searching for a way to reclaim their birthright and their wife. They’ve dedicated their lives to protecting the House of Lamidae, hoping one day one of the seers in the house would have a vision to help them.

All the Sisters ever say is… she is coming to you.

My Dragon Masters is outstanding! Its safe to say that the Sanctuary, Texas series is one to look out for! Krystal Shannan really does an excellent job of captivating her readers. She brings her readers on an unforgettable journey that will blow you mind!

Diana, an ancient Dragon shifter, awakes in a cell with no memory of her life, her name, and what or where she is. When she escapes The Veil, she comes to a world that she never imagined exsisted. It was highly entertaining reading about Diana trying to figure out this new Era she escaped to. She has no idea what to expect from this new time and place. With the help of a group of Supernaturals, helping to smuggle other Supernaturals to safety, Diana finally finds what she has been looking for.

Miles and Eli, Dragon royalty, have been missing their mate for Hundreds of years. When they discover they can once again feel her pull to them, her need for them, they will stop at nothing to reach her. However, things don’t go exactly as planned and they must relinquish the duties of finding her to Wolf Shifters, Garrett and Travis.

Once reunited with her mates, Diana is finally home. Although she is happy to be returned, she is still lost without her memories. In fact she is missing the most important memory of all, Diana must find a piece of her that was ripped from her arms a thousand years prior. With the help of the men she loves and the towns people of Sanctuary, she may be able to gain back her missing life.

This book was incredible! Hell, this whole series is amazing! I just can’t get enough of the sexy men, the steamy sex scenes, and the heartbreakingly beautiful love stories Krystal Shannan dishes out! I would recommend this book to all lovers of Paranormal Romance!

Review: My Viking Vampire by Krystal Shannan

Synopsis:

Bailey Ross’ world is crumbling around her. Her abusive ex, a human, is closing in on her again, and to make matters worse, a new enemy, a djinn, is stalking her. This supernatural being takes great pleasure in human pain, something Bailey has in excess thanks to her ex. If she’s caught by either, she’s as good as dead. Backed into a corner and desperate to escape, she does something she swore wouldn’t ever be possible again -trusting a man. And he’s a vampire. Protection via the sexy vampire Erick Thorson may prove to be a little more than she bargained for. Sparks fly between them and she finds herself agreeing to more than just protection. Though he has promised not to let anyone harm her, the small west Texas town is more than it seems and he may not be able to make good on his vow no matter how hard he tries. Will Sanctuary be the home Bailey longs for or will she have to die to find out?

I was approached by The Book Machine to review books from certain authors. At first I was skeptical on how it would work out, but boy am I glad I tried it! My Viking Vampire is such an amazing read I couldn’t be happier that I choose this book to be my first review with this site. While the book is a paranormal romance, it is really so much more!

My Viking Vampire sucked me right in and left me wanting nothing but more, more, more! This is the first book I’ve read by author Krystal Shannon, and let me tell you, I don’t know how I’ve ever gone this long without picking up one of her books/series. Her writing is fabulously creative and at times down right scandalous (in a really sexy way). She really knows how to capture a reader and give them everything they want and more!

While this book is definitely a Paranormal Romance there is so much more to it. The female protagonist, Bailey Ross, is fighting to escape an awful past. She faces so many obstacles on her journey which leads her to Erick. As a victim of abuse she is sorely reminded of her past day in and day out, due to the scars that cover her body. She was tortured and held captive by man she trusted. As a reader I felt torn at first, thinking that it could go either way. When dealing with touchy subjects one either takes it too far, or skates right over the issue. My mother is a survivor of an abusive relationship, which is what initially led me to choose this book in the first place (I am always curious to see how authors portray this topic). Shannon really out did herself. She was nothing if not tasteful and brutally honest with Bailey’s story. Not for one second did I believe she skirted the issue. In fact she used the story as a way for Bailey to overcome her fears. She did a beautiful job writing what was a horrific tale to tell, and it felt very “real”.

My Viking Vampire will satisfy all of your needs! There are a lot of different paranormal creatures throughout the book. Including vampires, werewolves, a siren, and a few sexy dragons. Not to mention a few others that were very exciting to read about. Romantically, this book was on fire! Bailey and Erick have one hell of a healthy sex life! Hot hot hot! The steam worthy level was at an 11 ladies! I urge you to pick up this book a.s.a.p.

I would recommend this book to all lovers of Paranormal Romance and readers looking for a little something different, trust me you won’t be disappointed!

Hunt by Rachel Vincent

I have always been a fan of this series! Rachel Vincent is a breath of fresh air and her stories are magnificent! “Hunt” is everything a short storty should be and more! Action, adventure, strong back story, and a tough female protagonist.

Abby Wade has been through a lot in the last four years, since we’ve last seen her in Stray. She is out camping with her fellow collegians when shit hits the fan, and she is tossed back to her troubled past. She races against the clock to stop her friends from meeting the same fate as she did so many years before. With the help of her new, not to mention sexy, alpha Jace, she has to hurry to figure out what’s going on in the woods and how to get get over her fears! I recommend this book to all paranormal romance readers!! It is an exellent read and kept me interested and on the edge of my seat until the end! ~5 stars~

Update: In the back of “Hunt” us readers discovered a new and exciting announcement!! Mrs. Vincent will be writing a New Adult Romance Series, a spin-off of the ever popular “Shifters” series!!!

(hold for applause)

That’s right ladies and gentleman a New Adult Romance series called Wildcats! It takes place in the Shifters world and our old friends will be there as well. This novel revolves around the two main characters Abby Wade (Faythe’s cousin from “Stray”) and Jace ( from Shifters series, who is now an Alpha). Abby is off at college and lives on Jace’s territory. The first chapter of the new Wildats Novel “Lion’s Share” is in the back of “Hunt”. So if you haven’t ran out to purchase it yet jump on the band wagon and get to it people!! Also, for those of you who have read “Hunt” in the Chick Kick Butt anthology, it has been changed up a little and there is more to the story (about 2000 words). So read it already and get ready for the excitment!

Review: The Wicked City by Megan Morgan

23946214

I received this book in exchange for an honest review from Netgalley.

Whatever June Coffin says, goes—literally. And it’s not just because she’s a chain smoking rebel. As a Siren, June has the ability to force people to obey any command she voices. But in a world where those with supernatural powers quickly become lab rats for science, she’d rather look out for herself than fight on the front lines…until her similarly gifted twin brother, Jason, is captured by Chicago’s Institute of Supernatural Research.

To save Jason, June has no choice but to enter a hidden world of conspiracy, murder—and strange bedfellows—including a widowed paranormal advocate whose memory June accidentally erased, and a fiery paranormal separatist leader. Soon the lines between attraction and strategic alliance become blurred. But in a city exploding with paranormal crossfire, and her brother’s life at stake, June will have to face her inner demons and finally take a stand.

Can I just say…Wow! What a great story. The Wicked City is so much different from any UF or paranormal romance book out there right now. I thoroughly enjoyed this story, and Megan Morgan left me wanting more! Her writing is so descriptive and creative I felt as if I  was inside the story.

I love finding new authors about to make it big and Miss Morgan is certainly one to watch out for! She is a great writer with so much talent. Her characters are well developed, each has his or her own special something that makes them stand out, and not to mention their pretty kickass! I really fell in love with The Wicked City, and I can’t wait to see what’s in store for us next.

June was a great protagonist. She was funny, witty, and never boring or complacent. June was an all around badass. Her sarcasm and self-deprecation really helped me relate to her. Well, that and the fact that she has amazing taste in men. Over all I think as a lead character she was everything she should be, and then some.

June has two men in her life in The Wicked City. Micha is the blue eyed, blonde, and an all American boy. He is very sweet throughout the story and I really liked how he and June meshed. Then we have Sam. Sam is exactly the opposite of Micha. Mysterious, tall, dark, and handsome. He is definitely hot, and what’s makes him even more sexy are the lengths he is willing to go to for our June.

The only problem I had with The Wicked City was that in the beginning it was hard to get into the story. I was a little confused as to what was going on, and at some points I was utterly lost. However, after the first few chapters I found my way. I got so into the book that I couldn’t put it down. Over all this was a fantastic read and I am so glad I got the chance to review it!

I would recommend this book to all lovers of Paranormal Romance.
